JUST IN - SONY PSP TO LIVE ON AFTER NGP RELEASE!!!

You read correctly, as far as the top dogs at Sony are concerned the existing PSP will exist alongside the NGP when it is finally released.
Check out what the big cheese at Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida said:

"The NGP features everything Sony can and wants to do today. It's a platform looking forward with great ambition. It can't replace a platform that has already been on sale for seven years now. In terms of pricing, we can't sell the NGP for the same price as a PSP. The PSP has become very affordable and popular, especially with younger generations."

He added: "I think the NGP needs time to mature and get adopted by users. So, for the time being, both platforms will coexist."

So there you have it, the PSP lives on!!!
Perhaps Sony are insuring sales of their portable consoles by allowing both to compete and support each other.
Smart or stupid move? Does the PSP deserve to continue its production run after 5 odd years? Or is the NGP a satisfactory replacement?
